When you think of improving health for yourself and your community, who do you think of? Doctors? Scientists? But what about Architects and Urban Planners? In this book I’ll show you how the built environment we occupy every day—our homes, schools, stadiums, office buildings, public parks—all shape our health. I’ll demystify the intentional design strategies at work as well as the scientific evidence how it impacts your health. My hope is that by the end of this book, you will share my belief that everything we design and build and can measurably improve our health. And that when someone wants to improve health for themselves and their community, they think about architecture and urban planning just as much as they think about medicine and science.
